I wish it did... unfortunately after verifying that raob.cdl is there and
adjusting the pqact.gempak entry to:
# upper air perl decoder
DDS|IDS ^U[ABDEFGHIJKLMPQRSTXZ].... .... ([0-3][0-9])
PIPE /home/ldm/decoders/bin/ua2nc
etc/raob.cdl
data/decoded/upperair

the write error makes me suspect that the directory isn't writable by the
ldm. an easy test is to do a command line invocation as ldm in HOME, ie
% decoders/bin/ua2nc etc/raob.cdl data/decoded/upperair 200412 < <datafile>
the data file shouldn't be older than one day or the data will be skipped
if still having problems, what version of decoders? latest is 3.0.6
